Uvas Puerto Rico was conceived as a tribute to the vineyard tasting experience — intimate, intentional, and rooted in a sense of place. After spending eleven years immersed in the wine culture of Napa Valley, returning to my homeland of Puerto Rico inspired the vision of recreating that same level of elegance and discovery on the Island of Enchantment.
The name Uvas Puerto Rico reflects both the foundation of winemaking and my cultural heritage. “Uvas,” the Spanish word for grapes, honors the essential element of wine while celebrating my identity as a Puerto Rican and the rich Latin influence that shapes our perspective and hospitality.
Our tasting room presents a carefully curated selection of U.S. wines, with a strong emphasis on distinguished California vintages. Complementing this collection is a thoughtful selection of French wines, with particular attention to Champagne — a personal favorite that embodies celebration, craftsmanship, and timeless refinement.
Luz Cruz
Owner and Founder of Uvas Puerto Rico, is a biologist whose lifelong curiosity about the natural world led her to an appreciation for wine as both a science and an art. Her journey into wine began in Napa Valley, one of the world’s most respected wine regions, where tradition, innovation, and terroir coexist.
Uvas Puerto Rico is deeply personal. The project was inspired by Luz’s desire to remain connected to her extended family in California while building something meaningful in Puerto Rico. It serves as a bridge between two places she calls home — uniting culture, knowledge, and experience in a refined setting designed for exploration and connection.
